On March 31st, 2026, Can Tho Promotion Agency (CPA) held a meeting with the delegation of JETRO HCMC. Attending the meeting were Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Duyen, Acting Director of CPA and representatives from specialized divisions.

In the meeting, CPA that provided an overview of CPA post-merger operations, functions, tasks, and future development orientations, also introduced the investment environment and priority areas for investment attraction in the city, particularly in logistics, industrial parks, and sectors with potential for cooperation with Japanese businesses.

Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi, Chief Representative of JETRO HCMC, stated that this was his first direct work with CPA after merger. JETRO HCMC highly appreciates the development potential of the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho city in particular. He also shared information about the needs and investment trends of Japanese businesses, especially in the fields of logistics, manufacturing, environmental technology and green transformation.

Both sides discussed the possibility of coordinating investment and trade promotion activities, as well as business matching; in which JETRO HCMC can support the survey of investment demand of Japanese businesses, as well as introduce businesses and startup projects that align with the city’s investment attraction orientation.

CPA proposed that JETRO HCMC continue acting as a bridge, providing information on potential investors, especially Japanese businesses that are interested in or planning to invest in Vietnam; also suggest coordinating to organize survey and networking events in Can Tho City.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope for more cooperation in the future to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Can Tho City and JETRO HCMC, aiming to promote investment attraction, support businesses, and develop the local economy in the coming time.
