Can Tho City Culture and Tourism Week 2026 Concludes Successfully

On the evening of June 21, following four vibrant days of activities from June 18 to 21, the Can Tho City Culture and Tourism Week 2026 officially concluded, leaving a strong impression on visitors from near and far. Held under the theme “Tay Do – Radiant Summer Colours,” the event served as a practical and meaningful platform for businesses and stakeholders, highlighting the strengths of various sectors and localities in promoting cultural and tourism development. It also contributed to the long-term goal of making tourism a key economic sector and an important driver of the city’s economic growth.

A highlight of the event was the Can Tho Tourism Promotion and Demand Stimulus Space, which brought together nearly 20 tourism businesses and accommodation establishments to showcase tourism publications, promotional materials, local souvenirs, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products of the city. In addition, the Culinary Space, coordinated by the Chef Association of Can Tho City, featured nearly 10 participating units presenting and introducing signature dishes of Can Tho.

The activities throughout the Week also left memorable impressions on visitors. In particular, the “Savour the Flavours of Tay Do” programme, featuring free folk cake buffets and fruit buffets, attracted large numbers of visitors who eagerly queued to experience the unique culinary flavours of the Mekong Delta. Alongside these activities, the Can Tho Beautiful Tourism Photo Exhibition, featuring nearly 50 artistic works displayed throughout the event, offered visitors a deeper understanding of the city’s natural beauty, cultural identity, and local way of life. In addition, minigames and workshops, including card-making, painting on traditional Do paper, and sachet-making activities, along with art performances and street music programmes, helped create a lively and festive atmosphere throughout the event.

One of the most highly regarded activities was the scientific conference entitled “Evaluating the Current State of Can Tho’s Tourism Destination and the Application of Digital Transformation in the New Context,” held on June 20. The conference attracted more than 100 delegates and featured presentations from experts, researchers, and business representatives. Discussions focused on emerging trends in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies in destination management and promotion.

In addition, the Can Tho City Culture and Tourism Week 2026 generated significant media attention, with nearly 20 press agencies covering the event and numerous articles and photographs published across online news outlets and digital platforms. The Organizing Committee also produced nearly 50 posts, reels, and video clips on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, reaching nearly 300,000 people and generating close to 6,000 engagements from businesses, local residents, and visitors, thereby promoting the image of Can Tho as an attractive, friendly, and dynamic destination.

The success of the event reaffirmed Can Tho City’s role as a tourism hub of the Mekong Delta region—a gateway to tourism experiences and a convergence point for resources, innovative ideas, and new models of cooperation.

With its current growth momentum, Can Tho’s tourism industry is expected to continue developing strongly, contributing positively to economic growth and further enhancing the city’s position on the regional and national tourism map.
