On the morning of August 5, 2026, at Glowfish Sathorn in Bangkok, Thailand, the People’s Committee of Can Tho City successfully organized a Business Networking Program to promote Can Tho tourism in Thailand.

The program was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions, tourism management authorities, as well as a large number of businesses from both countries.

Representatives of Diplomatic Missions and Tourism Authorities:

The event was honored by the presence of Ms. Hoang Diem Hanh, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Thailand, and Ms. Ratiwan Boonprakhong, Director of the Southeast Asia, South Asia and South Pacific Markets Division of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

Can Tho City Delegation:

The Can Tho City delegation was led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, and included leaders of relevant departments and agencies, along with representatives of 15 tourism businesses from Can Tho City who accompanied the group on its visit to Thailand.

Thai Partners:

The program brought together more than 30 leading tour operators and tourism service providers from Thailand for networking and business connections.

Expanding the Scope of Viet Nam–Thailand Tourism Cooperation

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City, emphasized that Can Tho—the economic, cultural, and tourism hub of the Mekong Delta—possesses rich potential for river-based ecotourism, distinctive local cultural values, and increasingly well-developed transport infrastructure and connectivity.

The event provided an important opportunity to introduce Can Tho’s image and distinctive tourism products to the Thai market, one of the key markets in Southeast Asia.

Representatives of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand also highly appreciated Can Tho City’s proactive efforts in organizing direct tourism promotion activities.

These activities not only contribute to promoting two-way tourist flows but also strengthen the friendly, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Connecting Businesses – Creating Momentum for Breakthrough Development

As part of the event, a lively business networking session between tourism enterprises from Can Tho and Thailand took place. Businesses from both sides met directly to exchange information, introduce new tours and travel routes, and discuss solutions for developing interconnected tourism product chains.

The event not only created an opportunity for businesses from Can Tho City to connect directly with reputable partners and businesses in Thailand, but also opened up practical cooperation opportunities in tourism, trade, and investment.

Through business networking activities, product showcases, and market information exchanges, the program contributed to strengthening linkages and expanding international partner networks. At the same time, it laid an important foundation for effectively tapping into the Thai tourist market and other potential markets in the region, bringing an increasing number of international visitors to Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta.

Concluding with positive outcomes, the tourism promotion program in Bangkok further affirmed Can Tho City’s direction and proactive approach in tourism promotion and international integration.

The connections established and cooperation opportunities opened up through the program will not only contribute to improving the effectiveness of tourism promotion activities, but also create momentum for the development of the city’s economy, trade, and services in the new period.

Can Tho City will continue to step up tourism promotion activities in key markets, strengthen linkages with domestic and international partners, and promote the image of  “Can Tho – A River City, a Safe and Friendly Destination”, affirming its position as the tourism hub of the Mekong Delta and an attractive destination on the regional and international tourism map.
